  8. Beautiful, crystal clear shot Roy. They really are lovely birds.

    I have just enjoyed all the photos on the previous post too. We also have quite a few people locally who live permanently on their narrow boats. A very pleasant way of life I should think. My husband's parents owned an old clinker built cabin cruiser which they used for holidays on the canal and occasionally the river for many years.

  9. Such an amazing combination of colors in one bird. I always wonder if they are even related to our Goldfinch, which is so different. The beaks are very different.

    Thanks Jan. Yes I should think it would be very pleasant way of life. I hired a boat way up the Thames once and your are shut off from the hustle and bustle. A whole different, but nice existence.

    They don't look much like your Goldfinch Mary, the colours don't look real sometimes.
